Speaker biography

Yann Baros has been Managing Director at the Hydro Engineering Centre (CIH) for over three years. Previously he was Corporate Director of Production at EDF Luminus from 2012.

CIH is EDF’s integrated engineering centre for designing, building, renovating, innovating and developing sustainable hydropower in France and abroad. They are located on six sites in France with close proximity to Hydropower installations.

Yann has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry sector, in Europe, America and Asia in different fields such as nuclear, thermal (mainly coal and gas) and renewable (mainly wind and hydro).

He has been with the EDF Group for over 20 years, and has held managerial responsibilities in the production and maintenance of power plants, in the nuclear industry as well as the gas and coal industry. Yann has extensive international experience in Japan and Mexico as well as missions in the United States and Vietnam.

He holds a master’s degree in Materials Physics from Orsay-Paris Sud University and is a graduate engineer from the Higher Institute of Electronics of Paris.
