Speaker biography

V. Chanudet graduated from the engineering School of Geology of Nancy (France) and received his MSc in hydrogeology in 2003. He obtained his Ph.D in 2008 from the Swiss University of Geneva after an interdisciplinary doctoral work focusing on fine particles and water quality of natural lakes.

He joined the EDF Hydro Engineering Centre in 2008 and was responsible for the development of the 3-dimensional modelling (hydrodynamic and water quality including the greenhouse gases (GHG)) of the Nam Theun 2 Reservoir in Laos. He is now also involved in managing environmental projects including water quality and GHG emission measurements or assessments in several countries.

During the past two years, he routinely used the G-Res tool to assess GHG emissions of new projects, especially in tropical areas, but also of existing hydropower reservoirs in France.
