Speaker biography

Paul O’Connor is an Executive Director in J.P. Morgan’s Green Bonds team, developing green bond propositions for issuer clients and advising on execution in line with established market practices.

Prior to joining the Green Bonds team, Paul spent 6 years in J.P. Morgan’s Global Environmental and Social Risk Management team. As part of this role, he advised on a variety of capital market transactions covering equity, debt (including green bonds) and syndicated loans, as well as traditional credit products and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Paul is an environmental finance specialist with over 20 years of experience. Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2012, he worked in Sustainability and Climate Change consulting at PwC, Environmental Risk Consulting at Arthur Andersen, and as an environmental technical specialist at Atkins Engineering Consultants. He also completed an internship in Directorate-General XI (Environment) at the European Commission.

Paul holds BSc Hons in Environmental Sciences from the National University of Ireland. He also holds an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment Auditing and Management Systems from the University of East Anglia for which he received a Distinction.
