Speaker biography

Patrick Ray is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He specialises in risk management and sustainability of water resources.

Patrick evaluates questions of climate change sustainability and resilience in the water sector for the US Army Corps, the World Bank, the California Department of Water Resources as well as others. In 2015, he co-authored the World Bank’s ‘Confronting Climate Uncertainty in Water Resources Planning and Project Design: the Decision Tree Framework’.

Patrick is the current president of the Environmental and Water Resources Systems Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers. In 2018 he was named the A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Young Professional of the American Water Resources Association.
