Speaker biography

Michel Lino, graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris, in 1973, cofounded ISL Engineering SAS in 1986. With 40 years of professional activity dedicated to the engineering of dams and water projects, Michel LINO is now a dam consultant, advisor to various owners and contractors, and a member of several panels of experts for dam safety. His experience includes large dams, hydroelectric facilities and river facilities for many building owners in hydraulic and hydropower.

Michel LINO is author of more than thirty scientific and technical publications in the field of dam design and water projects. Since 2001, he actively takes part in the annual ICOLD meetings and Congresses. He participated to the Technical Committee of ICOLD on Seismic Aspects of Dam Design and is currently Vice President of ICOLD Technical Committee P on Cemented Material Dams. I had been distinguished by ICOLD in Bali in June 2014, especially for his contribution to the development of Faced Symmetrical Hardfill Dams.

He was elected as Vice-President of ICOLD for Europe in May 2016 for the term 2016-2019 and President of the French Committee on Dams and Reservoirs (CFBR) in January 2017. In February 2018, he has been nominated of the French Dam and Hydraulic Works Safety Panel (CTPBOH).
