Speaker biography

Daler Jumaev serves as the General Director for Pamir Energy (PE), a utility company based in Eastern Tajikistan, one of the most challenging landscapes in the region. Daler has been leading their growth since he started in 2007. He has taken the company from having been on the brink of disaster into a successful and sustainable private public partnership.

Currently, Pamir Energy supplies 24/7 reliable, uninterrupted, affordable electricity to 96% of the region of VMKB in Tajikistan. This is in addition to supporting a number of cross-border energy projects that are providing reliable light and warmth to 4% of the population living in rural and remote areas of Northern Afghanistan, some of which are accessing electricity for the first time in history.

He obtained his executive education from Harvard Business School in 2013 and pursued Professional Development Studies at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina. Daler also holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Tajik Technical University in Dushanbe and a diploma in Economics from Khorog State University, both in Tajikistan.
