Speaker biography

Christian Turpin is the Environmental Advisor for Hydro-Québec. Within this team, he coordinates various Life Cycle Analysis research projects comparing energy production options and the use of Québec’s electricity.

He is currently coordinating an initiative to increase the recognition of hydroelectricity as a source of clean and green energy and to showcase Québec’s electricity mix, which is made of more than 99% of renewable sources.

Christian joined Hydro-Québec’s Environment team in 2010, having started his environmental career working in the pulp and paper sector, where he was for 22 years.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a postgraduate degree in sustainable development management.
