Speaker biography

Bruno Marin Fontes is an Engineering Manager at Itaipu Binacional. His work focuses on planning, managing and executing projects related to supervision, control, automation and industrial communication systems.

He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and a degree in Communication Systems from the Federal University of Technology in Paraná. He is currently undertaking a MBA in Electrical Sector Business from Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

He joined Itaipu in 2008 and has worked on a number of projects relating to the modernization, retrofit and expansion of HPP and substation systems, with special attention to digitalization, system integration and cyber security issues. He is currently the Electronic Engineering and Control Systems Division Manager, part of Engineering Superintendence.

Bruno is also a member of the project team responsible for the Itaipu Binacional HPP Technical Modernisation Project, heading the technical team responsible for supervision, control, OT infrastructure and cyber security disciplines.
