Bernard Valluy is the Head of Group Operations for Alpiq. He is currently active in the development of next generation digitized project management and O&M procedures and tools based on stochastic approaches and optimization based prescriptive maintenance.
After graduating in Civil Engineering from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Bernard joined ISL Consulting Firm as a project manager from 1997 to 2002 where he managed dam construction as site engineer and Waterways renewal and repair projects.
He then joined the Cleuson-Dixence pressure shaft rehabilitation project (300 kCHF) where he acted as the Head of Civil Engineering and Administration until commissioning. During this time, Bernard obtained an EMBA for the HEC Lausanne. He then joined EOS as project director for the two Hydropower projects (EES+ and EM+) he had introduced.
In 2012, he took over the O&M Unit of hydropower support where he managed the Risk and Condition Based Maintenance Program (AMP), based on a computerized probabilistic approach developed by Oxand. He also acted as Vice-Project Director in Alpiq’s ISO 55’000 certification initiative.
