Asphota Wasti is a PhD researcher from Nepal with 5 years of experience in hydropower studies in Nepal and the United States. She has industry experience with design and physical modelling of hydropower infrastructures and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Environmental Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
Her research focuses on multidimensional risk assessments and decision making under uncertainty. She is the lead analyst on a study of the climate change risk to a large water infrastructure project in Nepal as well as assisting the US National Weather Service in the improvement of flood forecasts at 300 points throughout the Ohio River Valley.
