Speaker biography

Abel Didier Tella is Director General of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA), which has 56 active members in Africa and 25 affiliate members in Africa, Europe and America. In his position, he has led the APUA initiative to establish the African Network of Centers of Excellence in Electricity, launched in 2016.

He is an electro-technical engineer with a Master of Science in Engineering, a post graduate Diploma in Renewable Energies as well as a Master’s degree in Energy Business Administration.

Previously, he worked for SBEE, the Benin National Power Utility. Abel worked as the Head of Studies and Projects in Electricity, Regional Director and Commercial and Marketing Director.

Abel Didier Tella was a member of the Scientific Council of the Regional Centre of Solar Energyin Bamako (Mali) from 1986 to 1989 for West African countries.
